Black Friday , Cyber Monday, Singles' Day... The month of November is usually loaded with irresistible bargains (apparently impossible to refuse). However, there is a brand, the Spanish sustainable clothing company Ecoalf, that has decided to boycott Black Friday with the aim of educating consumers and instructing them about the darker side of this event. Unlike other brands and retailers, on November 27 Ecoalf will give up tempting its customers with succulent discounts. And instead it will show the consumer alternatives to the most rampant consumerism.
The brand will organize a webinar with a focus on sustainability under the title "Voices United for a Planet Beyond Next Season" and has also released an emotional advertisement that perfectly illustrates the multiple Phone Number List problems that loom over the punishing planet Earth. In the 4-minute spot , which Ecoalf has premiered on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, spoken word artist Tomfoolery reads the poem “On Your Sleeve.” The verses of “On Your Sleeve” describe the (obviously irresponsible) way in which humans consume from the point of view of Mother Nature and urges the viewer to pause to question certain habits and traditions. If you do not see the embedded video correctly, click here In the spot, which has the motto #RecyclingBlackFriday , Tomfoolery's forceful words are accompanied by shocking images of oceans poisoned by plastics and dead cetaceans.
British artist and filmmaker Tomfoolery rose to global fame last April with his acclaimed video "The Great Realisation" , a click that has accumulated more than 60 million views on YouTube. In his videos Tomfoolery focuses his gaze on all kinds of problems and simultaneously imbues his messages with a pinch of hope. Javier Goyeneche , CEO and founder of Ecoalf , the British designer Christopher Raeburn and Orsola de Castro , founder of the global Fashion Revolution movement, will take part in the webinar organized this afternoon by the firm . The meeting will take place this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and will be moderated by Australian journalist Clare Press.
